FE - More Engineering Content

Okay, so by now I've mostly posted some really, really nice design content.  And I'm going to keep doing that.  After all, this is an architecture website, focused on everything that is designed and built.

But this is also an information website, and as such, I'm going to post some information regarding what any junior engineer should know.  This will include, among other things, the following:

  • Fluids
  • Mechanics
  • Statics
  • Dynamics
  • Chemistry
  • Thermodynamics
  • Material Properties
  • Mathematics
  • Biology

These are not design words.  That's a given.  But are they important to understanding the language of architecture?  Absolutely.  Any LEED accredited building has to incorporate a management system for fluids; any structural engineer knows that a building has to absorb both external and time-dependent displacements and forces to mitigate failure or collapse.

In short, these are the unspoken tools of any practicing master builder who wants to absorb his/her profession to the best of his/her abilities.
